This is where we found this unique niche market. No one in Australia specialised in real estate for Seniors. Seemingly it worked in the Insurance industry (Australian Pensioners Insurance Agency) so why not in the Real Estate Industry.
We set about offering a lower flat fee (Commissions starting from $3990) so they know what they will be paying in commission, not a percentage, which many find confusing.
We set modest advertising budgets, all vendor funded and offered everything the other agents offer.
We have gone from strength to strength since our start up 3 years ago.
We advertised in a monthly “Boomer” magazine and advertised (not heavily, as we had budget constraints), on a radio station, which had a predominant over 55 audience and on television, during the daytime shows. (which not only targeted seniors but were also very cost effective for us).
We also get quite a lot of our business from word of mouth, known as the Grey Grapevine. We know for certain we would not have had this success if we had gone out and started ABC PROPERTY or some other name.
